It's up against some pretty stiff opposition, as the overall quality of the eight finalists is very good indeed. All eight films will be screened at Cineworld in Sixfields on Monday September 20th at 7.30 pm, but you can vote for your favourite one online right up to midnight on September 17th at www.filmnorthants.co.uk.
It's worth watching all the films online at the web address above before deciding who to vote for; they are an interesting and unusual bunch, and I'm proud mine is sitting up there amongst them. Until I saw all the hard work and effort that goes into film-making, I didn't realise just how difficult it was.
When you see the filming going on at a location, that's just the start. The long work of cutting and splitting and special effects being blended in is enough to do your head in. One of the most vexing problems is not what to put in, but what to leave out. I'm glad I can leave all that to the capable hands of my producer Kevin Stoney, who always does a terrific job. (Second plug for you there, Kev; must be worth a couple of beers at least...).
I'm really looking forward to the screening of all eight films on September 20th; I shall have to check my suit still fits for hob-nobbing with the local film set. Champagne reception afterwards too, what ho!
