How can leader be so stupid?

I feel I have to respond to Marcus Rock (Your Say, February 12), the spokesman for Northants Green Party. He wrote the Archbishop of Canterbury, Dr Rowan Williams, was correct when he said that the adoption of Sharia law in the UK was unavoidable.

Has the archbishop never heard of the expression "When in Rome do as the Romans do"? If I chose to emigrate to a Muslim country, I would expect to obey Islamic laws. It's common sense.

Can somebody explain to me why the head of a dying church can be so stupid?

Muslims will implement Sharia law in their lives whether that is recognised by common law or not. This already occurs.
