I write as an ex-Labour Party voter,
who voted for Tony Blair in the 1997 and 2001 elections.
My message to all Labour Party members is to get rid of Gordon Brown, the present Prime Minister, because his only answer is: "impose more taxes".
We have a problem with gangs on the streets because of alcohol and drugs.
What does the boring Alistair Darling do in his first budget as our new Chancellor? His answer to this is to tax beer in pubs and working men's clubs to extract more money from our already over-taxed, law-abiding public. I cannot see the logic of Mr Darling's budget.
The increase of wine and 4p on the pint of bitter will not let us reclaim the streets.
