We are getting a wonderful response from the Northampton public, they are queuing up some days to sign our 'Save the Market' petition, and the words of support from people doing their everyday shopping are very heartening to hear. Quite a number will be going to the big meeting this Monday, 12th January, at the Northampton Guildhall at 7.45 PM.
The more signatures we get on our petition the better, as they will help us to get a review of this council's crazy plans for our lovely market square.
Many thanks to Geoff Howes for his excellent letter of support for our campaign in the Chronicle & Echo.
Who is responsible for this mess the town is in, you might well ask? Primarily the Liberal-Democrat borough council, led by Tony Woods and Richard Church, who make their decisions in Cabinet, which means in secret, uncontested by the more sensible councillors in the Liberal-Democrat party.
Be sure to get to the meeting this Monday 12th January at the Guildhall at 7.45 PM. This is an open public meeting for the people of Northampton, not just cobblers supporters and market traders, so make a special effort to come along. Everyone is welcome.
