I must say I'm very sad and angry and feel 'Sick as a Parrot' that after all our efforts, and all the 11,000 signatures from the good people of Northampton, that the Lib-Dems have taken no notice at all, and have gone ahead with their decision to 'Improve' the Market Square by reducing the size of the market. This will leave a huge area of waste land most days of the month, except when the occasional Lib-Dem event is on, like Mueller Rice.
I would like to invite the people of Northampton to come along to the Market Square and take a look at this huge wasteland the Lib-Dems are about to create. Let the people of Northampton be the Judge and Jury on what the Lib-Dems have done. The waste land will be there to remind people who was responsible for it, every day until the next borough election, when this obnoxious Lib-Dem crew will be voted out.
The stubborn arrogant foolishness of this Liberal-Democratic administration has to be seen to be believed. It was very evident at the Cabinet meeting on Wednesday night, when scores of market traders packed into the council chamber and were told they must not speak or comment. I had managed collecting 11,000 signatures and even then was not allowed to speak. It's not Russia, is it? Just feels like it when the Lib-Dems are around.
The Lib-Dem Cabinet passed their plan with no discussion, just giving it the ok between themselves, like the bunch of autocrats they are. The bare-faced lies they told at the meeting made them a disgrace to the Liberal Party and whatever remains of its noble history.
I would like to thank everyone again who helped in our campaign so far, and especially all those shoppers who signed our petition. It is a sad day for democracy when the signatures of 11,000 people are seen to be cast aside as nothing in favour of the wishes of a half-dozen nodding dogs. Paid nodding dogs at that. Nod to keep your feet in the trough; it doesn't matter how it affects other people's lives.
But the fight goes on, and it isn't over till the lady sings, as they say. The gravy train for the Lib-Dems is going to come to an end eventually, and when it does I hope to see them wiped out in the elections.
Talking of elections, I intend standing against Richard Church in his own Ward come the County Council elections, just to liven things up a bit. It's a pity we don't have a tradition of the candidates' debate, like they do in the States. That would get the Lib-Dems into brown trousers.
Meanwhile, we shall be watching them. Every time a trader is turned away and cannot get a stall because they have not left enough stalls; we shall tell about it. Every time one of their flimsy gazebo pop-ups breaks or lets in the rain and ruins someone's stock; we shall tell you about it. Every time there is an event which is only an apology for an event; we shall let you all know about that too. Every time there is a market cock-up of some kind or other, we shall joyfully tell you all about it.
We shall not let them rest; the fight goes on, the resistance continues.
