As a market trader I think cheap stall rents and cheap parking for punters

I see the Lib-Dems have been talking about changing the surface of the market square; perhaps even bringing back cobbles in some form or another.

A point I have brought up several times recently, talking to local people, and in my letters to this newspaper, is that our Market Square lacks a focal point...

A small number of local politicians have from time to time spoken out against our traditional market stalls, with their very safe and secure semi-fixed layout...
