Well, I have to say the colourful lions prowling around the town centre have taken my fancy. The kids love playing with them, visitors enjoy being photographed with them, and teenage lads and drunks love dry humping them.

In the recent warm weather it was nice to see the kids and the dogs of the town enjoying the Liberal Democrat £100,000 of public money fountain at the south-east corner of the market square.

I recently watched President Barack Obama on TV. He was defending his policies on Iran and Afghanistan since becoming President. He must hold his nerve in Afghanistan and talk to the Taliban. The two-day visit of the Italian Market on November 5th and 6th brought a number of visitors and shoppers into town, and some traders reported a bit of spin-off in trade. Nothing to get excited about mind, but a step in the right direction.
