Afterthoughts

Just a few thoughts now the General Election is over. I must say I enjoyed the contest, and I would like to express my thanks to all those who voted for me, to those who gave their support in my election endevours, and to those who stopped by at my 'election headquarters' on Northampton Market to shake my hand and wish me luck, and to my staff who helped cover my occasional absence from my business. I must not forget those fellow-contestants who, no matter what party or point of view, chatted to me in a friendly and pleasant manner.

Kids and Dogs Enjoy £100,000 Fountain

Lights Out, Northampton...

There's been a lot of correspondence in the local papers concerning the turning out of half of Northampton's lights.
We have even had county councillors likening it to standards before the 2nd World War, when the street lighting was fairly sparse even in towns, and almost non-existent in rural areas. The comparison is completely false.

It's A Hard Game...

I see both the National Market Traders' Federation (The Fed) and the Government are hoping to entice some of the newly unemployed into Market Trading. Well, good luck to them, but I would warn anybody coming into the field that it's a hard game, weather like you've never experienced so closely before, and long long hours, sometimes for heartbreakingly poor returns.
