Fitzy Northampton ::About Fitzy
Perhaps because I was born, lived, and worked in Castle Ward most of my life, I honestly feel I owe the place a favour, and want to see it restored to something like the busy place it used to be. As a proud market trader my faith in the current system was shattered four years ago by the ridiculous plans and proposals put forward by Northampton Borough Council for our lovely Market Square. I just had to become politically involved; it's the only way I can 'have my say'. The past six years have seen an incredible shambles in politics in Northampton; anyone who cares about decency and standards in public life has a duty to do the best they can to bring about a higher standard of both public and political behaviour. I shall continue campaigning for the Town Centre and its people. We have the Lib-Dems in charge now, for the first time. They can't be as bad as the last lot, can they? We hoped! But they are worse, a lot worse. They have ridden over the views of the shoppers in Northampton, 11,000 of them, and moved the market to a crammed top half of the Square. Now in 2010 they want to remove the strong traditional stalls and give us seaside gazebos. They even want to take away our boards and trestles! What an unspeakable shower they are. Northampton will kick them out of office at the next local election, but by then it may be too late for the market. The Fight Must Go On! Click Here to email me |
